Yokoso - Welcome to Gojyuan

We are in the process of renovating an old sandstone building (circa 1855) that has been in the family for over 70 years. Our intention is to give the building a new makeover and turn it into a traditional Japanese style inn.

Gojyuan is located very close to the central business district of Sydney, in the beautiful and quaint suburb of Balmain.

Transport to the city by bus is available right outside the front door or a short walk to the ferry will give you a lovely ride on Sydney Harbour. Our contact page displays a map of the local area and directions on how to get here.

Please watch our news to keep track of our progress and if you have experience in any Japanese traditional skill eg. dance, theatre ( noh, kabuki, bunraku ), music ( shakuhachi, shamisen, koto ) etc. and would like to share this, please contact us.
